The 28 Kms Ferney Trail forms part of the ‘Ligue de Trail’ (trail league) of Mauritius. Participants to the 28kms race need to be 18 years or over, on the 1st January 2011.
Participants to the 15kms race need be 12 years or over, on the 1st January 2011 and must have parental consent.
Participants to the 10kms race need be 8 years or over, on the 1st January 2011 and must have parental consent.
Upon registering to the race, the Participant will be deemed to have accepted to be bound by all applicable rules and regulations and to have accepted to discharge any liability howsoever arising of the Organizing Committee and/or its members in case of the Participant’s failure to comply with any such rules and regulations.
Official Time Lapse for the Ferney Trail 2011 are:
At 28 kms (the finishing line at Domaine de l'Etoile) - before 1:00 p.m. on the 1st October 2011.
At 15 kms from starting line - before noon on the 1st October 2011.
At 10 kms from starting line - before noon on the 1st October 2011.
Official Ferney Trail rules and regulations
| Article 1 : | There shall be no refund of the registration fees in the event of the race being cancelled due to an event of force majeure, including but not limited to flood, fire, cyclones, etc. |
Article 2 : |
Participants will be sorted by age categories as set out below. The winner, should there be any “exaequo” at the Finishing line, will be the older participant. Ferney Trail 28 kms :

| Article 3 : | It shall be compulsory for each participant to wear the “Official T-shirt” as from the Starting line, except for those who are sponsored according to the Sponsors conditions and regulations. |
Article 4 : |
Participants will be disqualified unless the Race Number /Control Check Point Card is presented for tagging at each Check Point including at the Starting and Finishing lines. |
| Article 5 : | Participants will have to return the Race Number /Control Check Point Card at the Check Point desk:

| Article 6 : | In case of withdrawal or disqualification, participants shall immediately leave the track path. |
Article 7 : |
Participants shall provide for their own food and drinks. Food and drink breaks shall only be authorized at the different check points as provided for by the Organizing Committee. Participants shall not be allowed any supply or help outside of the authorized check points. Failure to comply with this rule shall be a cause for disqualification. |
| Article 8 : | Participants shall not be helped by a pace runner (“lièvre”) and/or be authorized to use any means of transport throughout the race. Failure to comply with this rule shall be a cause for disqualification. |
Article 9 : |
The Ferney Trail proposes 3 tracks, a 28 kms trail, a 15 kms trail and 10 kms trail will be marked out and the participants shall at all times follow such markings up to the Finishing line. Participants shall reach the relevant check points and Finishing line within the prescribed delay as per the Official Time Lapse referred to above. |
| Article 10 : | Participants shall, at all times while in the race, wear adequate sportswear and footwear. Failure to comply with this rule shall be a cause for disqualification. |
Article 11 : |
The Medical Team of the Organizing Committee has full and irrevocable power to decide, at any time, whether a participant is fit to participate or to remain in the race. Participants who are found to be unfit as per the advice of the Medical Team will be immediately disqualified and shall not be allowed to proceed with the race. |
| Article 12 : | Participants shall be held liable for any damage caused by them and/or their supporters and guests to the markings, tracks, natural environment and other materials installed by and belonging to the Organizing Committee. Participants may further be disqualified if found so liable. |
Article 13 : |
Any participant threatening or insulting a member of the Organizing Committee will be disqualified. |
| Article 14 : | Participants shall benefit from an insurance cover subscribed by the Organizing Committee. It is specifically understood that such insurance cover will not extend to participants’ supporters and guests. The cover for the participant shall be null and void if any of the rules of the event is not adhered to by the participant. |
Article 15 : |
The Organizing Committee shall not be liable for any incident and/or any loss or damage which may be suffered by any Participant after the closure of the race (i.e., after the passage of the “équipe balai” / serre-file) or for those arising as a consequence of the Participant’s failure to comply with any of the applicable rules and regulations of the race. |
| Article 16 : | The Organizing Committee reserves the right to change or modify the track paths and/or the Official Time Lapse as above-referred, without notice. |
Article 17 : |
Any claims by a Participant must be made in writing and handed to the Organizing Committee within 30 minutes of the provisional results having been posted. After a time of deliberation and consultation, the decision of the Committee shall be final. |
| Article 18 : | Upon registration, the Participants automatically and expressly consent to the publication and/or any other use by the Organizing Committee of any photograph of the event on which they may appear for the purpose of advertising and promoting the event. |
Article 19 : |
No animal will be allowed at the race. |
