Race volunteers

Volunteers, the third pillar of the event.

Volunteers include all those wishing to lend a hand to the Ferney Trail Team in a cheerful spirit and for a common interest in sports. On the race day, volunteers get a t-shirt and free lunch.

The runners need your support, we need your motivation.

Come join our team and live the race at the heart of the event.

You can accompany us on:

  1. Race preparations
Before the race we need to prepare and deliver the participants' packs (bags containing the participants race number and T-shirts). This task will take place approximately 1 week before the race, knowing that the delivery of packs will occur on 29 & 30 September, & 1 October 2010 at Ebene Skies in Ebene from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
  2. Welcoming the participants at the Start

The mission is to guide the participants, to retrieve the packs (only for 28kms race) and mark the participant's race number at the start. The 28 kms still start at 7.00 a.m. and the 10 kms race will start at 8.00 a.m at Le Domaine de L'Etoile, Sébastopol.

We ask our volunteers to be present at least ½ hour before the arrival of the participants to ensure optimal organisation.

  3. Refueling stations and checkpoints

These are crucial checkpoints on the race. At several specific locations on the race track, a designated person will be in charge of conveying back information to the organisers. Runners can get a drink, eat fruits, rest and have their race numbers controlled at these checkpoints.

  4. Signage on the trail

Some paths on the track can be confusing. To prevent runners from going astray, at these specific locations, we will have volunteers indicating the correct route and ensure the smooth running of the race.

  5. The animation on arrival

As soon as the runners cross the finish line, we need to mark down their race time, the participant race number, the time at which the participant crossed each checkpoints, and last but not least congratulate the runners!

  6. Post race cleaning

And yes we need to clean up after ! The site must remain clean, no paper is to be left. The race would not be as great without beauty or cleanliness of the place!

Volunteers will be contacted by email and will be briefed before the race so that we can be as effective as possible.
